Summer comes with many exciting things to do. One of our favorites is visiting local farms! Full of fresh produce and barnyard animals, these farms are great for family outings. To help you find one, we've rounded up six of the best Ontario farms to visit this summer.

Whether you're looking to pick produce or meet sweet farm animals, there are lots of great farms in Ontario. Here are some of our favorite farms to visit in the area.

Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm

Hunstville, Ontario

Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm is a great Ontario farm specializing in maple syrup. This family-run spot offers daily tours at 10 a.m. from Tuesday through Friday. Or, you can book your own private tour. The whole family will get to learn about the syrup-making process and try Canada's signature food.

Walker's Country Market

Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario

A quaint family market on the Niagara parkway, Walker's Country Market boasts a wide variety of fruit. Here, you'll find sweet cherries, peaches, apricots, apples, plums, and grapes. They also boast sweet treats like jams, jellies, and homemade baked goods.

While you're visiting one of the best farms in Ontario, you can enjoy gorgeous views of the Niagara river. Plus, you can visit the nearby Living Water Wayside Chapel, the world's smallest church.

Puddicombe Farms

Puddicombe Farms, a 214-year-old farm in Ontario, has an endless list of things to do. A farm, winery, and cidery, Puddicombe Farms is full of fun.

In the summer, you can pick your own cherries, right off the trees. Or take a ride on Little Puddy, the farm's choo-choo train. While visiting, you can also shop at the country store and sample the homemade wines. And for the kiddos, Puddicombe offers a kid's club to keep children entertained.

One of the best Ontario farms, Terre Bleu Lavender Farm is committed to sustainable farming. Open every afternoon, you can view the rolling purple fields of lavender. After walking through the farm, stop by the herb shop and enjoy a bit of lavender ice cream.

Riverdale Farm

Toronto, Ontario

Riverdale Farm is a historic farm located in Toronto's Cabbagetown neighborhood. With livestock, gardens, ponds, and skyline views, Riverdale is perfect for a family outing.

Spend the day wandering the trails and seeing the sights at Riverdale Farm. Additionally, the farm offers offers pottery and weaving classes from September to June. Visit, learn, and try a new skill.
