Nestled in the northeast corner of Sleepy Hollow, Rockefeller State Park Preserve hosts a myriad of countryside walks through the hills, valleys, and fields. And humans aren't the only ones enjoying the environment. A variety of wildlife calls the preserve home and the space is a hotspot for birding.
Another highlight of the park is Rockwood Hall. This 1,000-acre estate is centered around the remains of an Elizabethan mansion. Though the buildings have long since passed, the rock walls and landscaped grounds remain a peaceful respite for walkers.

Standing since the 18th century, Philipsburg Manor was long ago a milling and trading complex. The manor house and gristmill remain standing and visitors can walk through during guided tours. Additionally, the activity center retells the history of the site, including its origins in slavery.
