Located in Washington, Olympic National Park is known for its more than 70-mile coastline, glacier-capped mountains, and thousands of years of human history. Boasting nearly a million acres, this national park offers endless spots for wildlife watching, hiking, fishing, and even fun ranger programs. You also won't want to miss tidepooling, a unique opportunity to check out left behind sea life after the tide goes out. Plus, about an hour and a half away is Sun Outdoors Gig Harbor where you'll find a fun, family-friendly resort that's close in proximity to all the fun.
Home to the world's largest concentration of geysers and thermal features, Yellowstone National Park spans 2 million acres across the scenic states of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. As you can imagine, there's an endless number of activities, sights, and wildlife to see. Some top favorite spots include Old Faithful Geyser, Artist Point, Mammoth Hot Springs, and plenty of guided wildlife tours. Stay at Sun Outdoors Yellowstone North which is located about a quarter mile away from the park.
One of the most famous national parks in the country and known for its amazing example of erosion, the Grand Canyon National Park is in the northwest corner of Arizona. Gorgeous weather and breathtaking views make this a top destination for millions of people each year. From stargazing, to hiking and biking, there's even a fun Junior Ranger program for the kids to try. Just a few hours south you'll find the RV community Leaf Verde RV Community. Enjoy this prime location near Phoenix attractions and explore the all the best local spots the area has to offer.
Large forests and wonderous mountains straddle the borders of Tennessee and North Carolina within the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The park covers more than 522,000 acres of land offering an abundance of things to do, including 90 historic structures that have been preserved or rehabilitated. There are miles of trails to bike or hike and 2,900 miles of streams that are perfect for fishing. You'll easily need to return again and again to discover more. Don't forget to check out Sun Outdoors Pigeon Forge located at the gateway of this national park.
Situated along the Atlantic coast of Maine, Acadia National Park offers 158 miles of hiking trails and visitors can enjoy 27 miles of historic motor roads. There are breathtaking views around every corner and endless activities from biking and hiking to birdwatching and exploring historic structures. Looking for a place to stay?
