Sun Outdoors San Diego Bay Opens on Chula Vista Bayfront
SAN DIEGO - May 6, 2021 - Sun RV Resorts announced today the opening of Sun Outdoors San Diego Bay, formerly Costa Vista RV Resort, its highly anticipated RV resort, located on Chula Vista's scenic bayfront. The resort offers an outdoor vacation experience, pairing the modern comforts of home with the convenience of an upscale resort, serving as a trailblazer in the outdoor hospitality industry.
Situated on 19 acres of landscaped grounds, Sun Outdoors San Diego Bay offers a high-end outdoor experience and includes options for every type of traveler, including RV sites, vacation rentals, premium amenities and more. The resort's 197 well-appointed standard, deluxe and premium RV sites are equipped with spacious patios, stone paver fire pits, premium landscaping, and outdoor furniture. The property provides back-in and pull-through RV sites, ranging from 30-35 feet wide and providing each space with approximately 1,500-2,000 square feet.
Complementing the RV sites are the resort's 49 beautifully appointed one- and two-bedroom cottage-style vacation rentals, some with bay-front views. The coastal upscale vacation rentals sit on the resort's palm tree-lined promenade and the bayfront. Each vacation rental is approximately 400 square feet, fully furnished with a kitchen, outdoor furniture and stone firepits, designed to accommodate multiple style stays, including families, couples and small groups.

Built by leading commercial construction company Swinerton, the $56M project broke ground in September 2019 as part of the Port of San Diego and The City of Chula Vista's 500+ acre Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan and is the first major project to reach completion. The plan, aimed to transform the Chula Vista Bayfront into a premier waterfront destination, also includes a resort hotel and convention center, Sweetwater bike path, parks, promenades and more.

In addition to its RV sites and vacation rentals, Sun Outdoors San Diego Bay boasts a variety of year-round programming and unparalleled resort amenities, including:
